It is March and I am Mad. The sky is a vibrant electric blue. The clouds are soft cotton pillows. The sun is bright but not warm enough to melt the recent snow. It is a fake spring.
But when a gentle wind blows, soothing my brow with the feel of soft yellow daffodils and hot magenta tulips, I release the anger and betrayal.
Disappointment healed
By springs flowers marching on
The promise of hope
Another coming together of prompts! Merrill at dVerse requested a Haibun about “March Madness” while Jamie Dedes’ Wednesday Writing Prompt asked: How does nature inspire joy in you, inspire your creativity and perhaps even your sense of peace? For me, the symptoms of spring sparks joy however where I am now, spring has been a tease – snowing one day then 60 degree temperatures the next. It is enough to drive one mad!

As soon as you said colours just now all I could see in my mind’s eye were brilliantly coloured Primroses. I now realize how starved I am for colour. Luckily I am surrounded with trees. It will be exciting to watch them transform. Take good care my friend. Here’s to Spring! πΌπΊπΉπ₯π

The sight of colour can tame any heart. Love hot magenta! You describe the contrasts so well like fire and ice.

Thank you, Gina! I usually do love the contrasts in Nature. She is a most talented designer – all the colors are harmonious and soothing.

I can relate. Well said. Even the smallest inkling of Spring evokes forgiveness.

Thank you! Spring is procrastinating…hopefully that means she will make a grand entrance!

Well, she has made an entrance here, but it seems her stay will be shortlived. π

So delightful! I could feel your dismay and then your joy at the promise of spring.
It’s cold here today, but still the days are longer!
